I am a sophomore at the University of Maryland from Montgomery County, Maryland. Originally, I was born in Nigeria and moved to America when I was five years old. Since I moved here, I have always lived in Maryland, but I have moved around a lot. Through all this movement I learned life lessons that helped my decision about school and what I wanted to do regarding school. My first choice in scholars programs was public leadership because I believed that it would teach me a lot of very valuable life lessons about how to communicate well with others and of course become a better leader. I have learned so much in these past three semesters and I can’t wait to put that to use in the future. Through my university experience I want to learn as much as possible in the business field and I want to also make lifelong friendships that will continue to benefit me in many ways. Through all the lessons and the advice I have been given over these past three semesters I can happily say I made the right decision in choosing public leadership because I have already seen the impact it has made in the way I approach leadership roles.
